The schedule for the upcoming ODI World Cup was announced on Tuesday (June 27). The tournament will be played in ten cities of India for about one and a half months. India’s neighbor Pakistan has also confirmed its participation in the tournament, where they will play their nine series matches in various cities. In this they will not play a single match in Mumbai or Pune. Interestingly, even if they enter the semi-finals, they will not be seen playing in Maharashtra.

Pakistan cricket team is ready to play in this World Cup with various conditions. Pakistan will play their match against India in Ahmedabad. While Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore will play two matches each, Pakistan has not scheduled a single match in Mumbai and Pune. Interestingly, Pakistan made it to the semi-finals and though their match was scheduled to be held in Mumbai, the match was shifted to Kolkata.

Pakistan have not visited India for any bilateral series since 2013. Earlier in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, a political party, dug up the pitch of Wankhede Stadium before the match against Pakistan. Also, the position of this party is that Pakistan should not play in India. Therefore, it is said that ICC and BCCI have taken this decision to avoid any security issue.

The epic match between India and Pakistan will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Initially, Pakistan had demanded that this match be played in Chennai. However, their demand was rejected. The match will be played on October 15.
