The Indian women’s cricket team is very likely to get a new head coach in the form of Amol Mujumdar. Mujumdar is said to have influenced the Cricket Advisory Committee. Indian women’s team head coach has been vacant for a long time now, which Mujumdar can fill.
Amol Mujumdar along with former Dahram coach John Lewis and Tushar Arothe are in the running for the post of head coach of the Indian women’s team. According to media reports, Amol interviewed the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe and Sukshana Naik for the post of head coach in Mumbai on Monday (July 3). According to information, it was Anol who impressed the committee the most. Therefore, he can be appointed as the head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team.
A BCCI official informed, “CAC was most impressed with Amol’s interview. Other interviews were also good, but Amol’s interview was the best. It is hoped that his name will be selected for this work.”
Meanwhile, Amol has recently been the head coach of the Numbai Ranji team. He has experience coaching Rajasthan Royals of Indian Premier League and South Africa International Cricket Team. Amol was the only candidate in the interviews for the women’s head coach post, who appeared for the actual interview. The Indian women’s team is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in July. The team may get a new head coach before this tour, possibly in the form of Amol. The Indian team has played a series of three T20Is and three ODIs at Mirpurna during this tour.
