‘Those people should not come to the selection committee meeting’, Shastri’s statement created a new controversy in Indian cricket
Former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri is currently seen commentating on IPL 2023. Meanwhile, they are also expressing their opinion. Recently he gave an interview to a cricket website. In this interview, he has made some revelations, which can cause an earthquake in Indian cricket.
Ravi Shastri has been working with the Indian team for almost seven years. He previously served as the Director of the Indian team for two years. He then became the head coach of the Indian team from 2017 to 2021. He recently shared some secrets of his career. Speaking in this interview, he said,
“I was with the Indian team for seven years. At that time I was not going to the selection committee meeting. Interestingly, I was not invited. However, later on there were some people who were not allowed to come as per BCCI rules.”
His statement is said to be with former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. Although Ganguly has now stepped down from the post, he was accused of dominating the selection committee during his tenure. It was also alleged a few days ago that BCCI Secretary Jai Shah also attends the selection committee meetings.
In the same interview, Shastri told Virat Kohli about giving the captaincy to Virat Kohli for the final match of the World Test Championship. He had said that if Rohit is not fully fit then Virat will be the right candidate to replace him.
