In an interview to Sportskeeda, Jitesh said how important the international T20 series in the West Indies is going to be. Because, T20 World Cup 2024 (T20 World Cup 2024) is going to be played in this situation. He said, “I believe that when you represent the country, you can start preparing for the World Cup almost one and a half years in advance. The 2024 T20 World Cup will be hosted in the West Indies. I believe this is the right time to test the players who will be playing in the World Cup.”
Speaking further, he said, “It will help those players to understand the conditions in West Indies and how the pitch works there. In this way, they will be able to perform according to the conditions there. This will help them when they play in the T20 World Cup.”
Jitesh also said that he is focusing on the fundamentals of his game. It doesn’t matter whether he is playing for Vidarbha or for an IPL franchise. He said, “I believe three things are important for any athlete. Staying physically fit, mentally healthy and always ready in style. I focus on these three things. If you pay attention to these things, it doesn’t matter what type of cricket you play. You can adjust yourself mentally.”
He further said, “I think any form of cricket, you can play with ease. Every match is important for me. Because, I think, as cricketers, we are lucky to be playing professional cricket.”
Jitesh’s performance in IPL
In the IPL 2023 (IPL 2023) season, he scored 309 runs at an average of 23.77 while batting in 14 matches. His best score was 49 not out. Also, he scored 234 runs in 12 matches in the 2022 season. Thus he has scored a total of 543 runs in 26 matches in two seasons at an average of 25.86 and a strike rate of 159.24.
