Tushar, who plays domestic cricket for Mumbai, was selected by Chennai in their team last year. At that time he got a chance to play only two matches. Talking about captain MS Dhoni, he said,
“In the first match itself when I was giving more runs he came to me. He said currently 200 runs will be easy due to impact player rule. Don’t worry about your place in the team. A young player expects the same kind of support. I just went through the season doing the same things he was telling me to do. He stands behind the player like a soldier in tough times. I knew he wouldn’t give a single wrong piece of advice.”
Tushar is the highest wicket-taker for Chennai this season with 21 wickets. In 2020, Tushar was a part of the Delhi Capitals team. At that time Delhi was defeated by Mumbai Indians in the final match.
