Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders match was played in IPL 2023 on Thursday (May 4). Batting first, KKR got off to a poor start. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Jason Roy and Venkatesh Iyer returned to the tent with only 35 runs on the scoreboard. After that, Rinku Singh and captain Nitish Rana took the innings forward. The duo shared a 60-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Aidan Markram took a stunning catch off his own bowling to end the partnership.
As Markram bowled the twelfth over, Rana tried to hit a big shot on the second ball. As the ball flew high in the air towards long on, Markram himself took a leaping catch of nearly 35 yards. Many even called it the best catch of the season.
Talking about KKR’s innings, after a poor start, Rinku Singh and captain Nitish Rana put on a half-century partnership to bring the team into the game. Then Andre Russell was dismissed with an aggressive knock. T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly in the final overs to restrict KKR to 171.
