Dhoni is statistically the second most successful ODI captain after Australian legend Ricky Ponting. Ponting has led Australia to victory in 165 matches. Dhoni is third in the list of leading wicket takers in ODI cricket. The first is Ponting, who has led Australia in 230 matches. Second is Stephen Fleming, who led New Zealand in 218 ODIs. Dhoni is third on the list with 200 matches.
