UP Warriors thrash RCB, perform like no other team in WPL
The eighth match of the Women’s Premier League 2023 took place on Friday (March 11) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors. In this match which was held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, the RCB team once again gave a disappointing performance. RCB suffered a 10-wicket loss to the UP team in this one-sided match. This is RCB’s fourth straight defeat in the tournament. This loss makes their path to the playoffs very difficult. However, on the other hand, the UP team has created history with this win.
In Women’s Premier League 2023 (Womens Premier League 2023), RCB team led by Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bat. This time they had built a mountain of 138 runs losing all the wickets on the strength of Ellis Perry’s half century of 52 runs. However, UP rose to the challenge by scoring 139 runs without losing a single wicket in just 13 overs. UP’s opener Devika Vaidya and captain Alyssa Healy played a major role in achieving this victory. Devika scored an unbeaten 36, while Hilli scored an unbeaten 96 to win the second match of the tournament. Also, the team also registered a special record.
