Virat and Smriti’s dismal statistics in the first season will hurt RCB fans too

The 19th match of the Women’s Premier League 2023 is being played on Tuesday (March 21) in Royal Challengers Bangalore Women vs Mumbai Indians Women. RCB team has performed very disappointingly in this tournament. Skipper Smriti Mandhana also failed to bat with leadership. Something similar happened to Virat Kohli too. Talking about Smriti’s performance in the first season of the WPL tournament, she has scored 149 runs at an average of 18.62 and a strike rate of 111.9 in 8 matches in this tournament. She has not been able to score a single half-century during this time. Her best score this season is 37.

Interestingly, Smriti is the most expensive player in the first season of WPL. She was roped in by RCB for Rs 3.40 crore. However, it failed to perform as expected.

Virat Kohli’s performance in the first season
Now let’s know about Virat Kohli’s performance in the first season of IPL. Virat has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore since the first season of IPL i.e. 2008. In his first season representing RCB, Virat scored 165 runs in 12 innings from 13 matches at an average of 15 and a strike rate of 105.09. Virat also failed to score a single half-century in the first season of IPL. His first season best was 38.

However, after that, Virat improved his batting. Now he is the highest run scorer in IPL. He has scored 6411 runs so far. This includes 5 centuries and 42 fifties.

Interestingly, Virat’s salary in IPL 2008 (IPL 2008) season was 12 lakhs. Also, the salary for the IPL 2023 season is 15 crores. (Both Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana have failed to score a fifty in their inaugural season for RCB)
