Virat Anushka forgave ‘that’ person who threatened Vamika! FIR quashed by High Court
In T20 World Cup 2021, India had to accept defeat against Pakistan. After this match, India’s captain was Virat Kohli. After the defeat, the Bombay High Court acquitted the man who threatened Virat and Anushka Sharma’s daughter Wamika. The decision was taken on Monday (April 10).
After India’s defeat to Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, a man from Hyderabad threatened to rape Vimika Kohli on social media. Following the incident, the Delhi Commission for Women protested and the Hyderabad Police arrested software engineer Ramangesh Akubathini. He was arrested in November 2021 and is out on bail again. Last year, Akubathini had filed a plea to quash the FIR registered against him in the case.
His plea was accepted by the court on Monday (10) and the FIR was quashed. A bench of Justices AS Gadkari and PD Naik gave the verdict. Virat Kohli’s management and the complainants in the case also agreed to withdraw the complaint against the accused. Meanwhile, in this match against Pakistan, Virat Kohli’s Indian team had to accept defeat by as many as 10 wickets. Pakistan defeated India for the first time in the World Cup.
Virat Kohli has stepped down as the captain of India’s T20 team after India’s poor performance in this World Cup. He also left the captaincy of the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore during this period. Currently Virat is representing RCB in IPL 2023. In the first match of the season, RCB defeated Mumbai Indians. In the second and third matches, RCB had to accept defeat from Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants respectively.
