Among the best batsmen in the world are the former captain of the Indian team Virat Kohli and the explosive cricketer of the Australian team Steve Smith. Even veterans, let alone fans, get confused when comparing the two to decide who is the best. Both numbers are tremendous. Interestingly, both are included in the ‘Fab Four’ list. Both are currently playing in the finals of the World Test Championship. That’s how the ICC asked former legends to pick the best player between Virat and Smith. Meanwhile, the video is going viral on social media.
In fact, in this viral video, former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram, former New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor and former England batsman Ian Bell were asked questions about Virat-Smith. All three were asked to name the best player among Virat Kohli and Steve Smith.
After hearing this question, the three giants were confused. Initially, Akram answered the question and said, “We all know that Virat Kohli has been playing Test cricket for the last ten years and his average has been above 50. Also, Steve Smith’s name is included among the legendary players of Australia. But, according to me, Virat has a special talent.”
Ian Bell later said, “Steve Smith has a different batting and scoring outlook. He has made a remarkable transformation from the early days of his career till now and plays every shot on the field with ease. On the other hand, I love Virat Kohli when he bats. His cover drive, pool shot, cut shot are fantastic to watch. I think Virat is the best.”
Also, Ross Taylor called Steve Smith the best batsman in Test cricket, while Virat Kohli was named the best player in ODI and T20 cricket.
Playing in the WTC final against India, Smith scored an unbeaten 95 off 227 balls until the end of the first day’s play. He also hit 14 boundaries while making these runs. Smith and Travis Head (146 not out) led Australia to 327 for the loss of 3 wickets at the end of the first day.
