Gayle comments on India’s failure to win ICC trophies. He said, “I know that India has not won the ICC trophy for a long time. Same is the case with us. We last won the ICC trophy in 2016. In this case, the Indian team will be under pressure. Because, this time they are going to play an ICC tournament in their own country.”

The Indian team won the ODI World Cup in 2011 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. After that, the Indian team won the 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s leadership. India reached the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2014, Champions Trophy in 2017, World Test Championship in 2021 and 2023. However, the team lost in the finals of all the four major tournaments.
