Meanwhile, considering the overall match between the two teams, David Warner () won the toss and Delhi opted to bowl first. RCB scored 174 for 6 while batting first. Opener Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in 34 balls. Du Plessis lost his wicket after scoring 22 runs off 16 balls. Mahipal Lomrur scored 26 runs off 18 balls. Glenn Maxwell scored 24 off 14 balls.
