Want to relieve Indian players from injuries? So BCCI will have to use Shastri Guruji’s ‘ha’ fund
Some players in the Indian team seem to have suffered injuries in recent times. It also included the name of India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has not returned to the team for a long time due to a back injury. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer will also be away from the cricket field due to injury. Along with the Indian team, the captain Rohit Sharma is also very worried due to the injuries of the players. After the 1-2 defeat in the 3-match ODI series against Australia, Rohit spoke openly about it. Also, India’s former head coach Ravi Shastri also expressed his opinion about this.
What did Shastri say?
Talking to the media, Ravi Shastri commented on the injuries of the players. He said, “It is serious for me to think about the injuries of the players. During the time we played and the facilities we had, players could comfortably play for 8-10 years. Many of those players used to play for 10 months. Which also included county cricket. So I don’t know, is it because of playing more cricket?”
Speaking further, Shastri said, “There are many leagues being played around the world, so the time for players to rest is getting less and less. So I think the board and the players should sit together and discuss this issue. If there are issues with IPL as well, then the board should take the initiative there and tell the franchise teams that we need this player, India needs it. So it would be better if he doesn’t play a few matches under the name of India.”
Indian team lost the series
The final match of the 3-match ODI series between India and Australia was played in Chennai on Wednesday (March 22). Australia defeated India by 21 runs in this match. Due to this defeat, India lost the ODI series 1-2. In the first match, India won under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. However, due to Rohit Sharma’s return to the team in the second and third ODIs, the team’s pivot fell on his shoulders. Rohit could not lead the team to victory in both the ODIs.
