“We are losing because of the bowlers and not the batsmen”, the Australian legend made a different argument

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma put up a good performance against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. India is leading 2-0 in the four-Test series. With the Australian team trailing in the series, former Australian captain Greg Chappell has now blamed the Australian bowlers for the loss.

The Australian team entered the series with the intention of winning the series in India after a long time. Many former cricketers have said that only Australia has a chance to win this series. However, during the actual match, the Australian team appeared weaker than India. All the Australian batsmen literally threw nagas in front of the Indian bowlers. The Indian team managed to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy by winning the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi in three days. Australia’s batsmen failed to cope with the Indian bowlers.

Speaking after this poor performance by the Australian team, Greg Chappell said,

“The Australian team saw the situation and gave more spinners a chance. However, Australia’s strength is fast bowling. So the team should have fielded with their best bowlers. They should be trusted. After that, it is the responsibility of the batsmen to build a big score for the team.”

The third match between India and Australia will now be played in Indore from March 1. Australia team will try to come back by winning this match. With regular captain Pat Cummins returning home, veteran batsman Steve Smith will lead the team. Apart from that, opener David Warner has also been ruled out of the series.
