‘We have to understand one thing…’, Sachin’s blunt reply to those who name the Indian pitch

Recently, the Test series between India and Australia took place. The first three matches of the series were decided in just three days. As the pitch was favorable for spin bowling, the batsmen of both the teams had to bear the brunt of it. Many foreign players criticized this Indian pitch. But according to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, players should be prepared for every situation.

According to Sachin Tendulkar, how long a match lasts should not be seen to maintain the interest of cricket among the fans. Instead, the priority should be to see how exciting the match was, feels Sichan Tendulkar. India won the first two matches of this year’s Border Gavaskar Test series, while Australia won the third match. Many veterans looked upset as the results of all three matches came on the third day each. The Indian team and the BCCI were also widely criticized. But according to Sachin, a cricketer’s job is to be ready to play in any situation.

Talking to a media, Sachin said, “One thing we have to understand is that Test cricket should be attractive. Therefore, no more attention is needed on how long the match lasted. We (cricketers) are prepared to play on different pitches. Whether the pitch is suited to fast bowlers or spinners, we have to be ready to play in any situation.”

“When you do a tour, it’s not easy. Here the situation has to be understood. Observe everything and then make a plan. We are all discussing Test cricket with ICC and MCC. We need to plan something for the bowlers to keep Test cricket as the best format. Because the bowlers ask questions on every ball and the batsman has to answer them,” added Sachin.
