“We produce superstar players”, says Rohit of champions Mumbai Indians
Lucknow Super Giants Vs. Mumbai Indians teams face each other at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium on Wednesday (May 24). In this match, Mumbai literally thrashed the Lucknow team and won by 81 runs. Now they will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier Two. Before this match, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma expressed his opinion on many issues in an interview.
Speaking to an online platform that broadcasts the IPL, he revealed how Mumbai Indians are turning young players into big players. he said,
“The story of current players Nehal Vadra, Tilak Verma is very similar to that of Hardik Pandya Jasprit Bumrah. In the next two years, these two can be seen doing big things for Mumbai Indians and the Indian team. Mumbai Indians team has always been preparing young players to become superstars. Our scout team has played a huge role in this.”
Last year, Tilak Verma had a brilliant performance for Mumbai Indians. This year he continued his performance. Along with that, Nehal Vadra as a finisher and Akash Madhwal as a fast bowler have performed consistently for the team.
Rohit started his IPL career with the then Hyderabad-based franchise Deccan Chargers. Reminiscing about that time, Rohit said, “Deccan Chargers showed faith in me at a very young age and gave me the responsibility of vice-captain.” Also, he was not selected for the 2011 ODI World Cup. “It was shocking to me,” he said.
