‘We want to learn from teams, but not imitation’, Lucknow captain Krunal’s reaction in discussion
The 2023 season of the Indian Premier League is in its final stages. The team is vying for four playoff spots. Lucknow Super Giants under the leadership of Krunal Pandya are highly likely to make it to the playoffs. Lucknow’s regular captain KL Rahul is out for the season due to injury. But after Rahu, Krunal led the team in a good manner. Talking about leadership, Krunal recently gave a special reaction.
Krunal Pandya was once an important player of the Indian team. But currently he is out of the Indian team. In the IPL this year, he got the captaincy opportunity, which he did very well. Krunal is of the opinion that he wants to learn from everyone but does not want to imitate anyone as a captain. He recently spoke to the media. At the time he said, “It was a disappointment after KL Rahul was left out of the team. But I also accepted the challenge (of captaincy) and tried to live up to it. It is clear that I was the vice-captain of the team and that is why nothing has changed in me. I’m playing the way I’ve always played. I am also carrying out the captaincy of the team in the same way.”
“I don’t want to imitate anyone. But yes it is important to learn good things from everyone, that’s what I strive for. I want to do things my way. If I do things my way, the team is more likely to perform well. I have worked hard and played cricket in a determined manner. This is the method I apply while leading as well,” added Krunal. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants are scheduled to play their next match of the ongoing IPL season against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday (May 20).
