The matches are not organized after dividing the teams into two groups. As a result, the team has to play each of its rivals to secure a place in the top four.

The Indian team’s performance in the round-robin format of the tournament was nothing special. When the World Cup was first played in this manner in 1992, India could not even make it to the semi-finals. After that, even in the 2019 World Cup, India could not perform satisfactorily.
