The first-ever Women’s Premier League auction was held on Monday (February 13). The auction held in Mumbai saw huge bids for Indian as well as foreign players. India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a bid of Rs 3.40 lakhs. After she received this huge amount, Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, has started being trolled.
Smriti Mandhana was the first name to appear in this first auction of the Women’s Premier League. Mumbai Indians started bidding on her. After that, there was a big tug-of-war between Mumbai and RCB to get her in their team. Eventually RCB managed to retain her. She became the most expensive player in the entire auction.
Pakistan men’s team captain Babar Azam got trolled after Smriti received this amount. Because he gets only 2 Crore 30 Lakhs in Indian Rupees for playing Pakistan Super League. So many fans trolled him on social media. One fan wrote,
