Where did it go wrong against Rajasthan? Explanation given by CSK’s head coach, interesting commentary on the batting order as well

Four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings are in storming form in their 16th season. However, on Thursday (April 27), Chennai failed to chase down the challenge of Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Rajasthan defeated Chennai by 32 runs in this match. Despite the defeat, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has given a big reaction. He believes that there is no need to change the batting order. Because, it would not be right to tamper with the things that are going well.

Rajasthan Royals challenged Chennai Super Kings to 203 runs. Chasing this challenge, Chennai could score only 170 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. So Rajasthan won the match by 32 runs. This is Chennai’s third loss in 8 matches in IPL 2023.

Head Coach Stephen Fleming was asked if there is a need to play some batsmen in the top order. To this, he said, “The role assigned is important. Ajinkya Rahane is doing very well for us at number three. We don’t need to tamper with things that are going well.”

Speaking to the media after the match, Madhyam said, “Today we played against a team that controlled the pace of the ball. We couldn’t get the rhythm in the first six overs. Devon Conway has been in great form, but hasn’t been able to find a rhythm. Our innings progressed at a slow pace and when we tried to score runs, made some mistakes.”

Fleming admitted that he had lost the match in the powerplay itself. He said that the opposition team performed well in the first six overs both in batting and bowling. He also said, “His performance in the first six overs, both in batting and bowling, was outstanding. Due to this, they strengthened their grip on the match. We could have done better.”

In fact, Chennai lost the top spot when they lost the match against Rajasthan. The Chennai team has now slipped to the third position. Also, Rajasthan has bagged the first rank. Also, Gujarat Titans are second with 10 points. They are yet to play their 8th match. Talking about Chennai Super Kings, their next match will be played on Sunday (April 30) against Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
