In the 21st match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Supergiants and Punjab Kings faced each other. Punjab’s bowlers bowled brilliantly to restrict Lucknow Supergiants to 159, who were decorated with aggressive batsmen. Captain KL Rahul scored a half century for the Lucknow team. Along with this, he also accumulated a huge record in IPL history.

After losing the toss, Rahul and Myers got off to a fast start for Lucknow when they got the chance to bat first. Even after the other batsmen were dismissed at regular intervals, Rahul remained on the field for one side. He could not perform as expected in the first four matches. However, he washed away this failure in this match. Rahul scored 74 runs off 56 balls with the help of 8 fours and a six before being dismissed.

During this innings he also completed the fastest 4000 runs in IPL history. Rahul crossed this milestone in just 105 innings. He left behind the legendary Chris Gayle in this list. Gayle played 112 innings to reach 4000 IPL runs. David Warner is third in this list, he has done this feat in 114 innings. After that, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who are called the legends of RCB, are ranked. The duo took 128 and 131 innings respectively to complete 4000 IPL runs. Interestingly, Rahul has the best average among all of them. Rahul maintained the best average of 47.06 during these runs.

Rahul has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Supergiants in his IPL career.
