According to Suryakumar, former Indian team legend Gautam Gambhir () gave him the nickname Sky. Suryakumar said, “I think I got the name during 2014-15. At that time I was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. At that time Gautam Gambhir gave me this name. Suryakumar Yadav is a very big name. Gambhir said that not everyone can speak this. So that’s how I got the name.”

Suryakumar was also asked other questions in the interview. Suryakuma said that London is his favorite city in England. Surya also said that the favorite cricket ground of this place is Lord’s. Suryakumar also shared the names of the team players with whom he enjoys spending time. He said, “Everyone here is my best friend. Mila likes to spend time with everyone.
