Who will open for CSK? Ajinkya Rahane Says, ‘I Always…’

In the Indian Premier League 2023, Ajinkya Rahane will once again play under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Both of them played together for many years for the Indian team. But Ajinkya Rahane is playing for Chennai Super Kings for the first time this year. Rahane has always batted as an opener in T20 cricket. But this time he might not get the chance to open. Before the start of the season, Rahane explained what his role would be for CSK.

Ajinkya Rahane has always played at number one for Team India and IPL. But this time, seeing the requirements of the team, he may have to compromise. Ajinkya Rahane has given clear indications that he is ready to play at any number. Meanwhile, CSK openers Devon Conway and Rituraj Gaikwad are said to open the innings for CSK in the upcoming season. Against this backdrop, some questions were asked to Ajinkya Rahane in a press conference on Thursday (March 30).

The IPL season kicks off on Friday (March 31) with a match between CSK and Gujarat Titans. On the opener question, Rahane replied, “I have always been an opener. Even in T20 cricket, the innings is always started. So my role will not change much. But still I am always ready to carry out whatever responsibility the team management and captain ask me. I always prefer team thinking. So whenever I get an opportunity, I will contribute my best.”

Legendary England all-rounder Ben Stokes will play for CSK in IPL 2023. But according to media reports, Stokes will not bowl in the IPL due to fitness reasons. In the press conference Rahane will Stokes bowl in IPL or not? A question was asked. Rahane gave a very brief answer to the reporters’ question. “Tomorrow you will see how Mahi Bhai will use it.
