Why not give Prithvi a chance? The former Indian opener raised questions on team management
Prithvi Shaw, the young opener of the Indian cricket team, did not get a chance to play in the Indian team for more than one and a half years. Many people question the fact that even after scoring runs in domestic cricket, he did not get a chance. Now former Indian team opener Murali Vijay has also been included in this list.
Prithvi Shaw has been scoring huge runs in domestic cricket since the last two seasons. He excelled both as a batsman and captain while leading Mumbai in all three forms of cricket. Even so, he could not make a comeback in the Indian team. He was selected in the team for the T20 series against New Zealand a few days ago. However, he failed to make it to the final eleven.
At the same time, Murali Vijay questioned the team management of the Indian team. Speaking in an interview, he said,
“KL Rahul and Shubman Gill have been successful in making their place in the Indian team. However, I don’t understand why Prithvi Shaw is not playing. The team management should ask questions about this. Because there is definitely a place for a player like him in the team.”
Prithvi Shaw is the captain of the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup winning team won by the Indian team. After that he got an opportunity to play international cricket for the team. He got off to a good start by scoring a century in his very first Test match. However, he had to drop out of the team due to failure after that. He was recently in the limelight due to his fight with a model in Mumbai.
