The Indian cricket team has been announced for the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China in the month of September-October. Maharashtra captain Rituraj Gaikwad will lead the Indian team for this tournament. Except for Rahul Tripathi, none of the players in this team is above 30 years of age. So it seems that BCCI is ready to build a new team by taking young players in the near future.

BCCI seems to be preparing another option for the captaincy by giving the leadership of this team to Rituraj Gaikwad. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma and Prabhasimran have also been rewarded for their good performance in IPL and domestic cricket. Along with this, Rahul Tripathi, Shahbaz Ahmed, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dubey, who have played for the Indian team but are currently sidelined from the main team, can get another chance to make a comeback in the Indian team. Ravi Bishnoi, who was seen as a future big spinner, also managed to make his place in the team after the West Indies tour. While fast bowlers Avesh Khan and Shivam Mavi will be part of the Indian team after a long time.
