Will Hardik make a comeback in the Test team? BCCI plans new ‘master plan’

Australia beat India by 209 runs in the final of the World Test Championship. In the recent past, India has lost in the 2021 World Cup final last year, the Asia Cup, then the T20 World Cup and now the WTC tournament. India’s failure in 9 major tournaments in a row has seen a lot of criticism of the Indian team. After that, the Indian team will go on the West Indies tour. Hardik Pandya can make a comeback in the Test team on this tour.

In the new cycle, BCCI is said to be considering many young players in the Test squad. The first series of this cycle will be in West Indies. Some senior players may be rested for this series.

A BCCI official on condition of anonymity said,

“There may be many changes in the Test team from now on. There is no doubt about Rohit’s leadership and he will be the captain of the team. Currently there is a discussion to bring Hardik Pandya to the Test team. He can contribute in all three departments of the game. His current form is good. So he will be useful to the team in Tests as well.”

Hardik has not played Test cricket for the last five years. But he is a regular member of ODI and T20 team. He has led Gujarat Titans to the final twice in the IPL in the last two years. He also got a chance to lead the Indian team. BCCI may include Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfraz Khan and Rituraj Gaikwad in the Test squad.
