Last year at the end of 2022, young wicketkeeper batsman of the Indian team Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a car accident. In this accident, his head and limbs were severely injured. He is still not recovered from this injury. However, fans want to know whether Pant will play in ODI World Cup 2023 or not. Meanwhile, a major update has come out about his comeback.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Director Sham Sharma has given an update on Rishabh Pant’s injury. He has said that Pant is focusing on a full recovery from the injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. He also said that it is difficult for Pant to get fit before the World Cup. It is being said that Pant will not be able to be a part of the One Day World Cup 2023 (ODI World Cup 2023) to be played in India in October-November this year.

Speaking to the media after meeting Pant in Bengaluru, Sharma said, “Rishabh Pant is making good progress. He may recover after the ODI World Cup is over. Also, will come out of NCA only after being declared fully fit.” In fact, on January 4, Pant underwent surgery on his right knee at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Also, he was taken to Mumbai for other injuries.

He added, “Rishabh Pant is exercising well. I was with him for almost half an hour. He is recovering fast. Different exercises are being done by him. Many types of exercises like walking and climbing stairs are being done by him. Also, he is walking on mud or grass.”

When will the World Cup start?
Cricket’s biggest Maha Kumbh Mela i.e. ODI World Cup will start from October 5. The first match of the tournament will be played between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A total of 48 matches will be played in this tournament. These matches will be organized at stadiums in 10 different cities of India. Also, India’s first World Cup match will be played against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
