According to media reports, Lucknow Super Giants captain Mark Wood may return home before the end of the IPL 2023 season. However, if the Lucknow team reaches the playoffs, then Mark Wood’s less will inform the team. Mark Pudd has already missed the last two matches for Lucknow Super Giants due to injury. Meanwhile, it is being said that Mark Wood is going to be a father soon and for this reason he may even withdraw from the last few matches of the IPL season. Lucknow had included Wood in their team by spending a whopping 7 crore 50 lakh rupees.

Mark Wood’s wife is pregnant and is likely to give birth at the end of May. For this reason, it is being said that Wood will leave for his home country i.e. England in the last week of May. He has played four matches in the current IPL season so far, taking 11 wickets and is also a strong contender for the Purple Cap. In his first match of the season against CSK, Wood took five wickets for 14 runs. But his claim for the Purple Cap could be weakened after his withdrawal from the last few matches.

Looking at the performance of Lucknow Super Giants in the current IPL season, they have won four out of seven matches. Lucknow’s team is ranked third in the points table.
