Tata Group Title Sponsor for Women’s Premier League 2023
After the Indian Premier League, now the Tata group has also acquired the title rights of the first Women’s Premier League (Womens Premier League 2023). The contract will be from 2023 to 2027. Through this, Tata Group will be promoting its two flagship brands Tata Capital and Tata Motors. The financial aspects of this agreement have not been disclosed. According to media reports, the Tata Group has acquired the rights for 5 years. Tata also acquired the IPL rights last year. Viacom 18 has won the media rights for the Women’s Premier League. A deal worth Rs 951 crore has been signed in media rights for five years.
22 matches in five teams
BCCI had already announced the Women’s Premier League Timetable. A total of 22 matches will be played in 5 teams in this first season. Women’s Premier League matches will be played at Brabourne and DY Patil Stadiums in Mumbai. Total 5 teams are participating in this tournament. It includes Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, UP Warriors.
The match will start from March 4 and the first match will be between Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Titans. The tournament will have a total of 20 league matches and two playoff matches. These matches will be played for 23 days. Also, the tournament will have a total of 4 double header (two matches in one day) matches.
