The Indian team will take on the West Indies two-handed on Wednesday (February 15) in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. After defeating Pakistan in their first match, the Indian team will be looking to maintain their winning streak by winning this match. All eyes are on whether Indian team’s regular vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will be fit and available for this match.
Indian team is included in Group B. In their first match, India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets. India overcame Pakistan’s 150-run challenge with an over to spare thanks to Jemima Rodriguez’s unbeaten half-century and Richa Ghosh’s aggressive 31 runs. Hence, the Indian team will aim to defeat the West Indies and travel towards the next round.
West Indies lost to England in their first match. The West Indies team will also be seen making efforts to maintain their challenge in the tournament.
How the Indian team will field the playing eleven for this match has also caught the attention of many. If Smriti Mandhana is fully fit, she will make her place in the team. If she returns to the team, one of Yastika Bhatia and Harleen Deol may have to sit out. There is little chance of changes in the bowling department.
The match will start at 6.30 PM IST. This match will also be played at the Newlands ground in Cape Town.
