Yashasvi Jaiswal’s selection in the team for WTC Fine, know why he got a chance to replace Rituraj

The doors of the Indian team have been opened for Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has stormed in IPL and domestic cricket. In IPL 2023, Jaiswal failed to get his Rajasthan Royals a place in the playoffs. But his personal performance was overwhelming. It is against this backdrop that he has been selected for the upcoming WTC finals. Jaiswal will join the team as a reserve player in place of Rituraj Gaikwad.

According to media reports, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad is going to tie the knot on June 3-4. Rituraj Gaikwad was kept in the reserves for the final match of the World Test Championship. But due to his marriage, he could not join the team in time. According to information, Rituraj could be added to the team after June 5. However, head coach Rahul Dravid wants the entire team to be present in England before then. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected for the WTC final at the behest of Asat Dravid.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will play in the Indian Premier League 2023 final on Sunday (May 28). Rituraj will open for CSK as usual for this match. However, he will not be available for the Indian team immediately after the IPL ends. Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya will face CSK in the final match of IPL. In Qualifier Two, Gujarat beat Mumbai Indians and booked their place in the final.

Considering the current form of Rituraj and Jaiswal, both the players have been able to play important roles for their respective IPL teams. Jaiswal was in the running for the Orange Cap this year. However, Rajasthan Royals failed to make it to the playoffs and Jaiswal’s Orange Caf dream was also left unfulfilled. He has scored 625 runs in 14 matches of the season. On the other hand, Rituraj has scored 564 runs in 14 innings in 15 matches so far in the season. (Yashasvi Jaiswal has been given a chance to replace Rituraj Gaikwad for the WTC finals.)
