The second match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia will be played in Delhi. The match will start on Friday (February 17) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. On the eve of this match, the head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, faced the press. Speaking in this press conference, Dravid’s funny prediction was seen.
In the first test held in Nagpur, the Australian team had to face a humiliating defeat. The Australian batsmen literally plowed ahead of the Indian spinners. The Indian bowlers bowled out Australia’s first innings for 177 runs and the second innings for just 91 runs. Against that background, there is a possibility of getting a similar pitch in Delhi.
In the press conference held on the eve of the match, Dravid answered the questions of the reporters. A journalist questioned the lack of a left-arm fast bowler in the Indian team. Answering him, Dravid said,
“The left-arm fast bowler always brings variety to the bowling attack. We had a bowler like Zaheer Khan. Even now Arshdeep Singh is getting ready. His performance in ODI cricket is good. He also played a couple of matches for Ranjith. However, he needs to work a little harder.”
The same journalist raised the question that India does not have bowlers like Mitchell Starc and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Answering him, Dravid bluntly said,
“Do we get bowlers like that? If you have 6ft 5in tall left-arm fast bowlers, bring them. No bowler can be given a place in the team because of his height and stamina. It definitely requires performance.”
Currently in the Indian team, Mohammad Semi and Mohammad Siraj are seen flying in the Test team.
