Yuva Karan became the 15th captain of Punjab! The axis of leadership given by veterans, read the list

In the 21st match of IPL 2023 Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings teams are facing each other. In this match between the two teams, Punjab won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sam Karan is leading Punjab in this match after Shikhar Dhawan got injured during practice. Along with this, Punjab also became the team with the most change of captain in IPL history.

In the new season of IPL, the Punjab Kings team has been led by Shikhar Dhawan. In the first four matches, Punjab won two and lost two. As Shikhar suffered a minor injury in the fourth match, he could not play in this match. He was replaced by England all-rounder Sam Curran. Along with this, Karan became the 15th captain of Punjab. Punjab also became the team with the highest number of captain changes in the IPA.

Playing as Kings XI Punjab, the team was led by Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the first two seasons of the IPL. After that two Sri Lankan veterans Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene took over this responsibility. Australian legend Adam Gilchrist led the team from 2011 to 2013. David Hussey captained the team for a few matches in his absence. In 2014, former Australian captain George Bailey successfully led the team to the final for the first and last time. After that, Virender Sehwag remained the captain of the team for some time. Murali Vijay David Miller and Glenn Maxwell also captained the team for a season each.

Punjab handed over the reins of the team in 2018 to veteran spinner Ravichandar Ashwin. After that, KL Rahul remained the captain of the team for three consecutive years. This responsibility was given to Mayank Agarwal last year. So, this year Shikhar and Karan are leading the team.
